Location:
The second annual Sacramento Book Festival will be held on Saturday, May 31st, 2025, from 10 AM to 4 PM. Our venue is the Shepard Garden & Arts Center (3330 McKinley Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95816), at the northeast corner of McKinley Park.
Parking:
There are about forty parking spaces in front of the building, accessible off of Park Way near 35th Street, and there is also a lot of street parking around the park and in the neighborhood, and most of it near the park is free on weekends.
If you are parking on the street, please check the parking signs carefully, as parking is limited to two hours in some locations.
There’s also a paid parking lot at 1123 Alhambra Blvd – one of the Sutter Garages – just south of Safeway on Granada Way, just east of Alhambra.
We have asked all of our authors, sponsors, and volunteers to leave their cars at offsite parking locations to keep the area near the Shepard Garden and Arts Center free for readers.
Food Options
We will have two food and beverage options on site. Juju’s Burgers will be open from 11 AM to 3 PM, serving burgers, fries and shakes. See the full menu here.
The Daily Fix will be serving coffee and tea on the East Patio all day.
There are also several restaurant venues nearby*:
- 3 Hermanas (3260 J St.): Three blocks south of the Center at 33rd and J. St. 11 AM-9 PM.
- La Trattoria Bohemia (3649 J St): About 5 blocks southeast of the Center. Open 11:30 AM-10 PM.
- Orphan Restaurant (3440 C St): Just two blocks directly north of the Center at 34th and C St. Cash only. 7 AM to 2 PM.
- Roxie Deli and Barbecue (3340 C St.): Just two blocks directly north of the Center at 33rd and C St. 8 AM to 7 PM.
- Shanghai Garden Restaurant (800 Alhambra Blvd.): On the far side of McKinley Park at Alhambra and H St. Open 12-9 PM.
- Tiferet Coffee (3020 H St.): On the far side of McKinley Park at Alhambra and H St. Open 8 AM to 2 PM.
