Location:

The third annual Sacramento Book Festival will be held on Sunday, April 19th, 2026, from 10 AM to 5 PM. Our venue is the Scottish Rite Masonic Center (6151 H Street • Sacramento, California 95819), at the northeast corner of H Street and Carlson Blvd (just a block north of the northern entrance to Sacramento State University).

Parking:

our new venue has more than 500 parking spaces, the majority under shady trees in front of the building. You can enter the parking lot off of H Street westbound just after H and J split from Fair Oaks Blvd. You can also enter via Carlson, just across from Fremont Presbyterian Church.

If the lot is full, there is on-street parking just north of the venue on Sandburg Dr.

Public Transportation

From downtown, Sac RT’s bus route 30 will drop you off at the north side of CSUS, just south of the venue. Walk north to the light, cross the street, and one block further north to H Street, and you will see the Scottish Rite Masonic Center on your right. You can pick up the line anywhere on J Street from Downtown to the Center. This bus line runs hourly starting at 6:30 AM.

From Arden Arcade, bus route 82 starts at American River College and winds its way down to CSUS, just south of the venue. Walk north to the light, cross the street, and one block further north to H Street, and you will see the Scottish Rite Masonic Center on your right. Service starts at 9:12 and runs hourly.

Finally, from North Sac, bus route 87 comes straight down Howe to CSUS, just south of the venue. Walk north to the light, cross the street, and one block further north to H Street, and you will see the Scottish Rite Masonic Center on your right. Service starts at 7:14 AM and runs all day.

Food Options

We will have multiple food trucks on site on site as well as a coffee vendor and a coffee and wine vendor.

Starbucks (5539 H St.): Two blocks east of the Center at H and 56th. 5:30 AM-5 PM.
Lin Dumpling (5539 H St.): Two blocks east of the Center at H and 56th. 10 AM-8 PM.
Heavenly’s Yogurt 2 (5535 H St): Two blocks east of the Center at H and 56th. 11 AM-9:30 PM.
Tupelo Coffee House (5700 Elvas Ave): Two blocks east of the Center, just north of H and 56th. 7 AM-11 PM.
Charm Thai (711 56th St): Two blocks east of the Center, just north of H and 56th. Open 11 AM-9 PM.
Casa East Sac (5401 H St): Four blocks east of the Center at H St. and 54th. Open 10 AM-2 PM.
Selland’s Market (5340 H St.): Five blocks east of the Center at H St. and El Dorado. Open 11 AM-8 PM.

There are also many additional options on Howe Avenue and on Fair Oaks Blvd, just east of the American River.

Lodging

We don’t have a hotel block for the festival this year, but if you are coming from out of town, there are a number of options close-by. Listed in order of proximity*:

Larkspur Landing (555 Howe Ave): Suite rooms just across the American River behind the Scottish Rite Masonic Center.
Home2 Suites by Hilton (1865 65th St.): On the same side oof the river, with easy access by car to the Center.
Hampton Inn and Suites (1875 65th St.): Right next to the Home2 Suites.
Playpark Hotels (3001 E St.): Just down H St., near Business 80.
The Midtowner Hotel, Best Western (1318 30th St.): Alhambra and N St. near Business 80.
Roy Inn & Suites (1319 30th St.): Next to the Midtowner.

There are a number of other hotels in the vicinity.
