Jenifer E. Rowe

Contemporary / General Fiction, Historical, Middle Grade

Jenifer Rowe published numerous short stories and essays over the years before turning her hand to longer works. Her first novel, Unexpected Findings, is a contemporary tale of homelessness, aging in place, and “found family.”  She recently published a second novel, Timberlands, a family drama set in Northern Wisconsin during the Great Depression. She is currently working on a novel that follows the same family a decade later, during World War II, which includes Hollywood, trains, and subterfuge.

Jenifer’s juvenile non-fiction book Madam Pantaloons: Gold Rush Pioneer tells the true story of a young Frenchwoman who struck it rich as a miner during the California Gold Rush while defying local laws by wearing trousers. She is actively keeping a lookout for more women who have been under-represented in history books as subject matter for young readers.
