Pamela Reitman is an award-winning writer with numerous publications in literary journals, news outlets, and magazines. Educated at Columbia University with a B.A., honors in English, and holding a master’s degree from UC Berkeley, she is retired from public health, also from community service aimed at reducing the stigma of mental illness. She is Director Emerita of Makor Or: A Jewish Meditation Center at the JCCSF. “Charlotte Salomon Paints Her Life" is her début novel, winner of a Fall 2025 PenCraft Award for literary excellence in Historical Fiction, and Honorable Mention at the Paris Book Festival. She is a Jewish Book Council Network 2025-26 Touring Author. She is also lay ordained in the Zen Buddhist tradition. A portion of the proceeds from 2025 sales will go to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
