Chicago born, third of eleven in a creative family, Lorraine Devon Wilke was imbued early with love of the arts. Folk groups in high school, theater in college, writing throughout, she hit the road with a rock band and ultimately landed in Los Angeles, where she immersed herself in acting, music, and writing. She started a blog in 2010, wrote for HuffPost, and self-published her first two novels, After the Sucker Punch (2014); Hysterical Love (2015). She Writes Press released her third novel, the award-winning, The Alchemy of Noise (2019), and in April 2025 Sibylline Press published her fourth, Chick Singer, as they will her fifth, The Weight of Fables (Fall 2027). She maintains a popular Substack, “Musings of a Creative Loudmouth,” sings with The Threshold Choir, and stays politically active, spending time with family and friends, traveling, photographing the world, and playing gigs with her band, Sixth & Third.
