Lisa Schliff earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and a master’s degree in English/ESL from Cal State San Francisco. During her senior undergraduate year, she studied in Spain. Now she is a retired English as a Second Language (ESL) adult education instructor. She is also a retired administrative assistant and marketing director for her husband Steve’s construction company in the San Francisco Bay Area. Steve and their charming cat, Shirli, reside withs her in Grass Valley, California. She has two adult children, Adam (in Lodi) and Rebecca (in Chicago).
Lisa is the 2025-26 Vice President of Gold Country Writers in Auburn, California. Until her election to VP, she was the editor of the group’s monthly newsletter for three years. This non-profit writers organization awarded her second place in a poetry contest for her poem “The Downhill Slide”.
