A founding member of Paper Lantern Writers and member of Historical Novel Society, Linda Ulleseit is the award-winning author of historical novels Under the Almond Trees, The Aloha Spirit, The River Remembers, and Innocents at Home. Her books are the stories of women in her family who were extraordinary but unsung. Her novel, Under the Almond Trees, is set in pioneer California. It follows the lives of three strong women, a suffragette, an architect, and a photographer. The Aloha Spirit is set in territorial Hawaii, inspired by the difficult life of her husband's grandmother. The River Remembers, 1835 Minnesota, explores the intertwining Native American, Black, and white cultures through the eyes of three women building a legacy for their children in a changing world. Her newest novel, Innocents at Home, features two of her ancestors who were with Mark Twain on the cruise that inspired his novel Innocents Abroad.
