
Memoir, Psychological Suspense
Lally Pia is a child psychiatrist and an award-winning author. She was born in Sri Lanka, grew up in Ghana and navigated a botched Green Card and refugee status before moving to California from the UK in her 20’s. She then worked a “dead end” job where she removed human heads to get off welfare. She attended medical school at UC Davis. Her memoir, The Fortune Teller’s Prophecy: A Memoir of an Unlikely Doctor” won a publication deal from She Writes Press and was published April 30, 2024. Lally was a finalist in the nationwide talent search for America’s Next Great Author in October, 2022. She is a Board member for the Sacramento Writers Club and volunteer faculty member for California Northstate University’s School of Medicine. She hopes to publish “Andorea” (psychological suspense) by the end of 2025. She lives in Davis with her husband, Tim, and her dog, Zorro.
