Biography, Historical
Gideon grew up outside the US, in Europe, and in Asia, attending private British schools as the child of a senior American diplomat. He served two enlistments in the US Army before being recruited by a NATO human intelligence group operating in Eastern Europe. Gideon’s nine years as a clandestine intelligence operator behind the Iron Curtain is the subject of Gideon’s first book, – JINNIK – The Asset.
Gideon D. Asche is the name the author lived under for in the field. In October of 1987, Gideon was compromised and arrested. He spent the next five months as the unwilling guest of soviet security services. Released in 1988, Gideon lives quietly with his wife, two Great Pyrenees, and his mountains, devoting his time to writing, avoiding humanity, and converting cheap wine into urine.
