Elizabeth Nguyen, MD is a psychiatrist who believes in the power of storytelling to heal inter-generational trauma. She was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii where her parents arrived as refugees from Vietnam after the end of the war in 1975. She received her BA from Stanford University in Human Biology, her MD from Northwestern University, and her Psychiatry Residency and Child Psychiatry Fellowship training at UC Davis.
She has a private psychiatry practice and also works in community mental health for children at Pacific Clinics. Aloha Vietnam is her first novel, sharing the unique challenges of translating mental health care across different languages and cultures.
