Dan Hanel is author of the award-winning historical mystery series – IN THE SHADOW OF DIABLO, including Mystery of the Great Stone House, Death at the Healing Waters, Ghosts of Black Diamond, and Beneath the Tangled Vines. Retired from public education after 40 years, he was named the Distinguished High School Science Teacher for the state of California, and was a high school, district, and county office administrator. Raised in Richmond, CA and living in Sacramento, he holds a biology degree from U.C., Berkeley and a master’s in education from CSU, East Bay.
