Carolyn is enchanted by the magic of storytelling. As a little girl who loved to read, her dream of becoming an author was realized with her debut picture book, A Shelter Is… This is the first book in her Animal Ally Series. Her goal is to help educate and empower kids to have positive impacts on their local animal shelters and animal rescue organizations.
Carolyn studied English and French in college, enriching her love of literature with studies abroad in England and Scotland. Her passion for travel led her to collect stories and books from around the world.
In 2023, she co-founded Hard Luck Animal Welfare Advocates with her husband, a nonprofit dedicated to providing medical care for animals at the Stockton Animal Shelter who are down on their luck. Her passion for advocating for these animals led her to write this story.
